| New to Fencing and the discussion. Hello all. Just some basic info about me:
I'm 23 and have been fencing for about 2 months. Right now I fence foil, but I eventually would like to learn all three. I plan on fencing for a long while so don't bother trying to convince me to chage just yet.
My studio is in Burbank, CA. So if you're from the area I would love to meet and greet.
I'm thinking about getting my own gear so any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, any suggestions on working the thigh muscles at home? They BURN every time.
Thanks to everyone,
-Pulsar

| Welcome to the forum and to fencing!
Your thighs, and other muscle groups, are going to be complaining for a long time... get used to it.
There are thigns you can do to help, though. Make sure you're eating well, and make sure you stretch both before and after you fence, and maybe again at night. As you get into better and better shape, you will have fewer and fewer issues with muscle pain, unless of course you decide to just intensify your workout further.

| Hurm..
Hye...
I am not a beginner in fencing and not one now...
I used to be one though..
I played the foil...
And...I am only 14 yrs old...
I started playing last year...With the sabre..
Soon my coach decided to allow me to play the foil...
I stopped coz my studies were dropping and before any of it happened,I actually dreamt of being in various competitions...
Now..I have none of it...
I am no more in touch with the fencing world any more...
So I hope that no matter what, I'l get to learn still a little sumthing-sumthing from this forums...
p/s= Can we ever be too old or too young to fence? |

| I thought that was you Sam. We have not actually been introduced yet, so no, I have not bought any gear from you. I am interested in getting some in the near future though. I am currently in David's class on wednesdays. Next time I come in I will make a point it to look you up. |
