| My co-worker saw it last night. We've been talking about how much better it was than Episode I. Some really good surprises, too, I'm told. I can't wait to see it!

| This afternoon, I was working in a classroom full of nerds. They all drilled as to how good Ep II was. I felt that I was telling too much but one of the nerds replied that the only reason he was going was because of what I was saying. In essence, I merely replied that all of the fatal mistakes that doomed Phantom Menace were made right with Attack of the Clones.
I have decided to sum up the movie in one word, Yoda.
Also, its great to be dating a wonderful, sweet, reliable, attractive girl who incidentally loves Star Wars. | Mhh, I saw the 12:01 showing, I was disappointed with the crowd, I wanted to see lots of weirdos in costumes, and all they had were light sabres.
I haven't seen epI (well, saw part of it in spanish, but I don't know spanish) but the opinion I got of II, which is shared by the guy I saw it with (who did see I, I think) is that there were parts that were pretty good, but then there were other parts that were just really cheezy.
It's not cheezy because the acting is bad, it's more because there are cheezy lines thrown into the script here and there. And they're not confined to one character, either...
All in all, since I wasn't expecting it to be too great, it was pretty good. But there were lines now and then where my friend and I just looked at each other and sorta rolled our eyes... You know?
Anyway, I've said enough.
Oh, and it was nice that they didn't make it really bloody, but the lack of blood was a little too exaggerated. Only a little. |

| I didn't like it <img src="graemlins/crap.gif" border="0" alt="[Crap]" /> Too much digital. Story line that was just so cheesey. Only thing that I liked was Yoda's fight scene. |

| funny, I liked the story and accepted the digital only because the story kept me.
Don't tell about the fight scene!!!!! :-) The whole idea is to make vauge references so everyone is suprised. I say keep the digital to a minium and use puppets whenever possible. Digital isn't impressive to me. Still, I liked the acting and story enough to ignore the rest.

Yoda fights in the movie? That'll make it worthwhile...

I HATE it when directors take a good/serious movie and add in something cheezy or funny.

She's very attractive. I wouldn't want a Playboy centerfold. I want my wife to be a good girl. Yeah, she could be a fencer, but she seems real supportive of fencing because she knows I love it. She's kinda that reason I got back in February. I had been out for months but she twisted my arm to drop by the club one day when we were in the air. I saw them fencing epee, my true love that no one used to fence there, and I was intoxicated immeidately. I pulled my gear out of the trunk and won 5-4 in a quick bout. I've been nuts ever since.

So, was Yoda using a #2 light sabre? It looked so much shorter than Dooku's.
Yoda reminds me of Al Carlay (if anyone knows who he is).

| Did you notice Count Dooku's lightsaber? You classical fencing types should be thrilled -- a bad guy uses an orthopedic grip! I'll bet it ruined his fine finger control, and that's why SPOILER was able to SPOILER. |

| Edew, I was thinking the same thing myself. It certainly did look like a shorter version.
Sink Me, Red Feather!! The French grip is quite formadable, IMO. I claimed a small victory for tight asses everywhere by winning a small, but very tough, tournament this weekend with a French grip. Kuddos to Schlager7, he fenced darn good and we nearly met in the semis yesterday. Next time, my friend.

And did anyone think that Dooku's lightsabre had an illegal cant to it's grip?
BTW, my first thought on seeing the Yodo vs. Dooku fight was "Gee, Ken Chilton vs. Sean McClain"
(I'll admit that Al's aerobatic capabilities probably make him the better analogy).

| Well, I bought all the lightsabres last week but my friend and I haven't had the chance to use them yet.
After looking over all five, I've attempted to classify their style and use.
1. Darth Maul - Crap. Horrible for infighting and poor even at distace.
2. Qui-Gonn - Long blade, good for keeping distance.
3. Obi-Wann - Simular use.
4. Anakin - Simular use.
5. Count Dooku - curved grip is perfect for infighting.
We haven't tested the new ones in battle yet, so I'll get back with you. My girlfriend pointed out the fact that Dooku's looked like an orthopedic grip much to my displeasure. I actually think there may be a few advantages to his. Still, you can't discout Anakin's sabre. After all, its Luke's first sabre!!! I mean the simplistic design and sentimental feel makes it my all time favourite!

Ken Chilton vs Sean McClain. LOL. That's exactly right. I remember several years ago, at the Long Beach Invitational where Ken and Sean fought for the gold. Ken was all over Sean like yoda on dooku.
It's too bad for the movie that the character with the most expressive face is one that's digitally created. Everyone else had the prozac expression.

| LOVED IT!
But then again I knew I would. I wasn't critical I just wanted to enjoy this movie. And I did. I am glad that Jar Jar has a minor role and Master Yoda has a greater role. I didn't mind the digital because it was far better than anything I could do.
I have always been far more interested in the telling of the story than the effects anyway. This story is really showing us how Anakin turned to the darkside and why he did. We are supposed to be understanding of his actions and frankly I do understand them and would have done the same in his shoes.
Everybody has there view of this movie mine is simple it was a great film and deserving of a place honor in time. No other movie that has had 5 sequals/prequals has done better or been more awaited. That says it all. Star Wars still captures us and draws us in to see what will happen next. Reguardless of the special effects. |
