| Club fees? How much do you guys pay to fence at your club?
$100/month here... it's high as hell because the coach does it through a YMCA, which automatically tacs on $38/month. |

| At the college club I fence with it's $90 a year or $50 a semester, and you get concurrent membership to our coach's club (which would normally be $200 a year, I think). It's a steal as far as I'm concerned. |

| Which begs the question, is it better to necropost and look for new opinions on the old topic, or just start a new thread all together.
I think I go with the latter. |

| It's highly unlikely to obtain significantly different results in the 2 months since the last time the thread was taken. |

| Why is that crazy? Do you think the fencing coach/club owner does this for the fun of it? People ought to be paid for their work. I bet you pay more than $100/month for gasoline, and that's clearly not necessary (in the sense of pure greed).

(Of course, it's a little different here as we don't really have clubs run in private regime but rather will get financially supported by the state/community... 'National Sports Ministry' or whatever it's called.)

I figured I would reply to this post as I am the one who chose this YMCA for the club.
$100 a month which includes Y membership is very inexpensive for what you get. You have access to a facility with a swimming pool, weight room, indoor track, other classes at no cost to you that enable you to cross train if you wish.
The monthly fee would have been higher if the club moved to a facility with rent and utilities.
In my opinion, the club has the best facility in South Carolina for fencing and you are very fortunate to also have a coach of such a high calibre. |

Do a google for the current exchange rate -I know it, but you should do something.
Have a nice time!

| Fellow Prius driver? I now pay about $55/month for gas, even with the high $2.75/gal prices. With my previous car, I would fuel up every 4-5 days (as opposed to once ever other week now), and pay $30/purchase (even at $2.40-2.50/gal), so that would have been $180/month.
Big difference, I'd think.

| Nope, just lucky enough to have a 2 mile comute to work.
Unless I'm fencing after work I don't bother with the car at all. Quote: |

| $150 / month here and I am pretty sure it all goes back into the club. The main expense being rent and utilities for the Salle.
