| Tolkien's unfinished works do indeed have an unfinished feel to them. I'm not all that fond of them, and they feel like a ploy by a son to capitilize on his father's legacy.
I'd love to see it all in the public domain, but I sure as hell am not going to buy them. |

I'm not sure why he's the most qualified to finish his father's works, anyway. There have got to be a lot of competent writers who could do a more professional job of pastiche writing, I should think. Genes do not a good writer make...

| Maybe because he manage from the start the unfininst tales off his father, like the 'The Lost Tales' for example.

| He's pretty much made it his life's work, starting from when Dad sent galley proofs to him during WW II when he was stationed overseas (South Africa, IIRC), so I guess he's as well positioned to carry on as anyone
