Veteran Fencing tournaments in Southern Cal

the scheduled Veteran Tournament in Northern San Diego was cancelled. Anyone have a schedule of Veteran Tournaments in Southern Cal? I've never been in one and need to fence.

Veteran Fencing tournaments in Southern Cal

I know, there was only one registrant. You have to check the PCS site for more information, but there really aren't too many Vet's competitions in So Cal. I know Midi is pushing for some. I would also prefer not to have to go to NAC or do a lot of travelling for Vet's competition.

I've had brain surgery, what's your excuse?

John, yes, there's one comming up, uh, Yesterday! Sorry you missed it, we could have used you in foil, we had 7. There was also a vet epee.
Are you thin and tall, and used to fence in SoCal? I think I remember you.

yup. Add a few pounds and a few years and: it's me!
I tried to enter the Veterans tournament in Escondido, but could never figure out how to do it. Where was the tournament yesterday? (I guess I could go to the web site you provided and answer my question, but I'm lazy). Hope to see you soon.

    schedule

thanks for the schedule. Is there any other place with a schedule? I only saw the Veterans tournament from the Escondido web site. I didn't allow me to enter that tournament from the web. If I had, that would be two people!

Let me know if there are any Veteran tournaments. I'd like to see my old friends.

The Senior Games were posted on AskFRED.net, the Pacific Section Website and LA-Epee.com.
The socal veteran event was posted on the socal division website and LA-Epee.com.
(Both events are no longer listed on LA-Epee.com since the site was updated and past tournaments have been removed. Only Epee events are listed on the site.)

The Senior Games was the event in Escondido that was to be held at the San Diego Fencing Center. It is still listed on the Pacific Coast Section website schedule.

Come up to the Bay Area for veteran fencing. The Veteran Bay Cup series is usually very well attended. Even our saber event had 10 fencers (should be a few more by the next one).

I can't see traveling for tournaments now. I'd love to see some of my old friends, but can't see going that far. I'm looking for something near.

Your fencing camp sounds fun, though. I penciled it into my calendar.

where is the Northern Cal veteran schedule?

    NorCal Vet Events

The events with "V" in front are vet events. And actually most of the vet events are between Santa Cruz & San Jose, so not so far North. Stop By!

On behalf of the people working on the Senior Games, I can say that everyone is sorry for all the confusion. Anne Rosser, who has been involved with fencing in San Diego for over 40 years, was behind getting fencing into the Senior Games. She is on the Board and would like to see it happen next year.

Everyone who was helping her is committed to making the process work better for fencers next year.

The Pacific Coast Section has a page for veteran fencing. <www.pcsfencing.com> and select veteran from the left column. The veteran's coordinators are committed fencers and very helpful.
