Balance of Terror

I just saw the new Star Trek, remastered and with all the new effects. The first episode they started with was Balance of Terror, one of my all-time favorite ones.

Anyone else see it? What'd you think?

The new effects were pretty good, overall much subtler than I was expecting. I thought they'd have put new effects on the bridge screens, but no. And it seems the external shots were mostly how they were before, but CG now. But, overall it looked great, I love the colors of the original series.

I'm glad to hear that it's not that bad. I haven't gotten a chance to see it yet and probably won't for a while. But I'll look forward to it!

Actually at first I wasnt even sure it was the "new" version, I had no clue when it was supposed to air. So, I had to go check the listings to make sure.

But, the first thing that strikes you is how vibrant the colors are. I mean, TOS always had nice colorful uniforms and sets, but here they really seem to look nice. I am a little disappointed they didnt add graphics to the bridge displays, however. Seems like they could have done it in a subtle way but would have added a lot. Oh well. The new CG Enterprise looked pretty good.

I'd love to be able to see the original and remastered versions side-by-side.
