People like us exist to make everyone else feel better. We are providing a valuable service. Let that not be forgotten. Now, they are coming to take me away. Fools. I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

Gaaah!! Not another eric to add to my list of people to hopelessly attempt to beat someday... I'd already had 2 anyway...
...Well I guess they're all varying levels so I could always work my way up... kinda a big jump prob'ly at the end there, though... Maybe I'll have to find more in-between ones to add to the list along the way...

Quit (no longer with us)
Array take it easy shy, its a goal in life, in 7 years you should be strong enough to fence him, anyway, there are lots of erics who fence, also my former boyfriends' name was eric, he was very interesting, but not a fencer, more outdoorsy, did other target practices and stuff like that. -

Array Its real funny, I won my first tournament 2 weekends ago and I haven't picked up an epee since.
Its like I satisfied my drive to win and now I'd rather be playing Jedi Knight. ... without remorse for the past, confident in the present, and full of hope for the future, [d'artagnan] went to bed and slept the sleep of the brave.

Quit (no longer with us)
Array i see your point, some people do that, but to answer shy's original question about winning or losing, i feel that there are time periods of winning, losing, some of both, etc. for example, my first year ever of fencing, i surprised many people by winning, it was weird and even i didn't understand any of it, then i was assigned a different teacher in my second year, and i did better, winning more, then in my third year i hit a slump and wasn't winning anything, but i stayed with it, because basically i love fencing, and so, that's when you have to knuckle down, take the lumps and keep going. by the fourth year i was making more steady progress, until finally i was allowed to join my fencing team at the nationals, where i lost tremendously, but as a fourth year fencer against 10 and 15 year fencers, i felt good, because i scored points for my team. -
