New Travel tool

Just discovered this neat website:

http://www.farecast.com

Put in the (limited) city you're flying out of and into and dates, and it will show you how prices have trended over the past while, and what like likelihood of future price changes is. Also, it has a very nice slider based system for selecting when you fly or what prices you'll consider, so you can rule out those 6am departures or $900 tickets. Not quite to "indispensable assistant" yet, but very nice all the same.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed that it doesn't cover the NAC sites from Austin, but for people flying from say Newark or such it's much more useful.

Combine it with www.seatguru.com and I'd say modern travel planning is much better than it used to be.

If it weren't for the SeatGuru site, I would still be flying without ability to enjoy in-flight gaming. FareCast seems limited in usefulness for the time being as I book my travel ridiculously far in advance, and I don't have much choice in days of travel (I go when/where the gigs are).
