    Yes.

And I was trying to say that the top 4 in 50-59 MS would be Cohen, Paroli and 2 Americans. Although it really could be any two of Korfanty, Jacobson, Yung and Richards. While Cohen has defeated Korfanty the last two years, he couldn't crack the medal stand in several tries before.

As a further catchup, good luck to New Englander Ed Mullarkey also.

Richard Cohen, like a number of competitors for other countries, lives in the United States.

    Oh my gosh

Wow. The organizers outdid themselves on this one. Bath is a LOVELY town and chock-full of things to do, see, buy, and eat. My husband and I took a bus tour and among the things the guide pointed out with pride were some major landmarks that we are slated to occupy: the Sports Training Village where our events are being held is cause for much civic pride, the Roman Baths where our opening civic reception is being held are an important archeological site, and the Assembly Rooms where we are having our gala dinner on Sunday are historic and beautiful. I hope the local organizing committee isn't too much in the hole for this. Contributions can be made, BTW.

My husband and I ran into Ray Sexton and Diane Kallus in front of Bath Abbey this morning, but I haven't seen any other competitors yet.

I'll reread Georgette Heyer's "Bath Tangle" for you. Though you may want to read it too.

    What did I say...?

Did you get a reasonable room at the Hilton? River view?

Been to the Jane Austen centre yet (http://www.janeausten.co.uk/)?

If the weather is nice, can I suggest I walk in Royal Victoria Park? Walk to Queen Square (http://multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?c...ut.x=2&out.y=9) and look for the gates to enter Royal Victoria Park just off the top right hand corner of the square (Royal Avenue/Gravel Walk). If you walk along there is will give you a FANTASTIC view of the Royal Crescent - actually better than close up (Georgian architacture tends to look even more amazing if you can get the bigger picture...). It's quite a nice park too

Worth walking back along the Royal Crescent, along Brock Street and having a look at The Circus (although you may have seen much of that on your bus tour)

We had to change rooms right away because there was no Internet access in the first one (my husband is a computer consultant) so as I was taking what appeared to be the last available room I didn't ask after all. But you were absolutely right about the location--it's right in the midst of things.

Oh, golly. There's so much to see and do. I've seen the Royal Crescent from about five vantage points so far and it's spectacular. We saw the Circus from the bus. Tomorrow we're taking a bus tour to Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock and Castle Combe since I don't want to miss the opportunity (I saw Stonehenge when I was 12, though). This is so much fun! Thank you so much for your advice and suggestions.

    Good

I used to live (for the first 18 years+ of my life) in a very small village about 15/20 minutes drive the other side of Stonehenge... I have spent more cold, blustery days taking people around Stonehenge than I would like to remember... . I imagine that the stones will seem "smaller" than you remember. Wrap up warm tomorrow - it is never NOT cold and blustery at Stonehenge...

Haven't been to Avebury, but Castle Combe is a beautiful village and Lacock is supposed to be gorgeous too...

It is unlikely that you will have the energy (and maybe not the desire!), but Bath Sword fence at Bath University tomorrow night (http://www.bathswordclub.co.uk/). The club venue is in the "main/old/founders sports hall" at the University (not the Sports Training Village) - http://www.bathswordclub.co.uk/howtofindus.html So, if you want to do any training before this weekend...

you have missed the third obvious contender for a british gold medal. ralph johnson is the current defending champion and looking to make it 3 in a row.

and given that he can do me for pace when i am nearly half his age, i am confident he can do it.
