Gold medal would be fine. But it was Kaz who put a stop to me in Krems, just as he did at the summer nationals that year and in the pools in Pittsburgh this year and once or twice elsewhen. But I finally learned.
It's interesting which countries are coming and which aren't. Also which countries are fielding full teams. I wonder if the British pound is just too strong for a lot of people.
Sincere thanks for going out of your way to send what you have. I see both LaPouge and Pasmans, who beat LaPouge in 2004, are there.
Wow, 43 for 60 Plus Epee.
And thanks to Peach for the 50's.
The number from Italy seems down.
Try to catch 50-59 Men's Sabre just to watch Italian Andrea Bocconi. Classic Italian temperment: Tragedy, Exaltation, Tragedy, Exaltation - and all in the same touch!
I have warned my wife, if we win the lottery you may see me there after all.

Another prediction. Sorry, Americans, but I predict Marie DeMaille, FRA, to again win golds in both 60 Plus Women's Foil and Epee. Olympic Foil Champion.

Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial
Special good luck to the fencers from my club -> L. 'Parry' Pinkus, A-M Walters and R. Campana! Also to good friends D. 'Beer' Richards (who practiced at my club the past month) and W. 'Smooth' Yung (who stops by ever time he vists DC)! Plus J. Adams and L. Dobloug from DCFC! Also to Wolf Nettingsmeyer who I know from my visits to Germany.
I can see a couple of Brits winning. Graham Paul to win Men's Foil 50-59 and Richard Cohen to win Sabre.
And that despite the fact that someone was trying to claim Richard Cohen for the US earlier in this thread

Although now that I read it again, I am not sure whether it says that Cohen and Paroli from Italy are Americans or is noting that they are in the MS. This is where someone like Inq would be complaining about the lack of a verb in the sentence

Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding

As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding
Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding
Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing!
