'06 - '07 GA Division Schedule

The Georgia divisional schedule has been set for next season. I had posted a scheule, but was asked to remove it since it was incomplete (see the messages below). A more accurate schedule will be posted on the Division's website. before too long.

Your division isn't too into running foil or sabre events, are they?

Nothing at Nellya?

It appears to be only a schedule of epee events, because the first tournament of the season at AFC has foil as well. The tournament is listed, but only the epee events. Maybe we can expect an update?

Oops, sorry about that. I had not noticed that there are no foil or sabre events listed. We only fence épée at our club, and this list was compiled by someone in our club who went the Tournament Committee meeting. Looks like he omitted the Foil and Sabre events since most of our fencers are not interested in anything but épée. I'm sure many of the tournament listed will also have foil and/or sabre events, and I'm sure Nellya scheduled at least a few sabre events. I don't know when these events are scheduled, but the division website will have a complete schedule before too long.

Clubs will be able to bid on hosting the qualifiers as they have in past years. Not sure when they will make a decision.

The Georgia Division 2006-2007 Schedule is now posted on the Georgia website.

http://www.gafencing.org/07_sched.pdf

The 3 letter club codes contained with the schedule are:

ACN = Athletic Club Northeast
AFC = Atlanta Fencers Club
AUG = Augusta Fencers Club
DFC = Dunwoody Fencers Club
GSO = Georgia Southern University
NFC = Nellya Fencers Club
NGF = North Georgia Fencing Center
SFC = Savannah Fencing Club
RFC = Rome Fencing Club
NAC = North American Circuit Event ( National Tournament)
GTU = Georgia Tech University

the weapon codes are F = Foil, E = Epee, S = Saber

the tournament codes are:

O = Open
D&u = D rated fencers and under
E&u = E rated fencers and under
U = unclassified fencers
U16, U19 = Under 16 (years old), Under 19 (years old)
Y10, 12, 14 = Youth10, 12, 14
(note Youth and Under age events must use the national birthyear calendar to determine if the fencer meets the age qualification criteria to compete in these tournaments)

It is also important to note that the minimum age to compete in senior fencing events (open thru unclassified events) is 13 years old as of the day of the competition)
