    FIE's site had been hacked!!!

Just after posting this long rant on R. Roch, I went on the FIE's website, and it appears it has been hacked!

    <a href="http://www.fie.ch" target="_blank">http://www.fie.ch</a>

I'll try and mirror it on my machine later.

The long rant is in the American Fencing thread.

I am not responsible for hacking into any site.

I don't even know how to do it

Just because the site's not working right now doesn't mean it's been hacked. Chill.

That's a hack if i've ever seen one.... but why didn't they at least take the opportunity to post their views on Athens 2004, or at the very least a photoshopped pic of Roch? Wasted effort....

Perhaps because not all hackers are terribly bright...or terribly political...just wantonly destructive. More like plain old vandals than activists. Takes all kinds...

I would imagine by looking at the site that is was done as a random act of malice. Otherwise, one would think that the site would have a political message.

People who hack and write viruses do not have enough things to do. Its rather irritating.

I wonder if they deleted the whole site or just replaced the home page. Anyone have a link to a page on the fie site (other than the index) to test it and find out?

The Communiqués aux membres page still works and actually has some recent communiqués I had not seen about Athens.

    Zelda,
The FIE would call a special committee to provide recommendations to the Internet task force, who would then forward those recommendations to the congress for a vote .....

And seeing we have just about missed any congress which would be convened at worlds we will have to wait until the next one which will probably be held early next year!
