The X-Files

No, this isn't as exciting as you think. It is actually about the TV Show the X-Files.

I really like it and I was just wondering if there are other people out there who do as well. If so, I thought I'd start a thread to chat about it.

For example, who's your favorite character, favorite episode, which season do you think is best...etc.

I will happily discuss any or all of the aforementioned topics...Or anything else about the series.

I liked it back in the day.

The best by far was cigarette smoking man. He's my hero.

Oh, and he made sure the Buffalo bills would never win a superbowl.

To me though the best episodes were the non-alien storyline ones.

Please see MY AVATAR!

Yes, not only that, but he also had a hand in making sure that the goalie for the U.S.S.R in the 1970 "Miracle" dropped his glove so the U.S. could win.

Personally, given the fact that "Cancer Man" "Cigarette Smoking Man"
"C.G.B Spender" is one of my favorite characters, although I have a few other less common favorites (most notably Albert Hosteen, the indian shaman) one of my all time favorite episodes is that episode where you see C.G.B Spender's history. For example, how he was the second gunman at the Kennedy assasination amongst other things. That episode rocked.

It's funny that you said you didn't like the alien episodes. My roommate feels the same way. A classic non-alien episode would certainly be the "Black and White" episode also known as The Postmodern Prometheus

I will stop my geekery now so that there will some more for later.

I woudn't say I didn't like alien episodes, but it was sure better when they changed up a little bit.

It was too bad that the last couple seasons had so many sub plots going that no one could really keep track of the story.

Unfortunately there was the season where David Duchovany left and then came back.

It was a slow build up. The first few seasons were just OK. Then around season 5 things really started to heat up, in my estimation season 6 is arguably the best season, season 7 meets it, and then from there it's all downhill.

I liked the old school episode where they had killer bees infested with smallpox. I mean, WTF!?

I used to be an "X-Philes" (X-Files) fan! I loved that show! The show went downhill when the show moved to California for filming. Thanks a lot, Duchovny!

Anybody watch the "Lone Gunmen" spin-off before it was axed by Fox?

I don't really remember much about each episode anymore, it's been a long time, but the only one I could remember that left a mark in my memory was that episode (I don't remember what's it called) where Scully and Mulder went to this "vampire" town to investigate and something happened and they're left to explain to their superior (Skinner) why they screwed up. Scully and Mulder each had a slightly different version of what they thought happened. It's pretty hilarious. The sheriff had buck teeth according to Mulder but Scully disagreed. Haha, good times, good times...

Hehe, William B. Davis was awesome. He was in one of the Smallville episodes! He came to my high school years ago when the X-files was still filmed in my hometown. Apparently, he came as a guest to some drama classes. It turns out the school drama teacher was married to one of the "Lone Gunmen" so that's how she got connections and all so that's how she got a few X-files actors to come to her drama class.

That's amazing. You are my hero for having met him.

In re the vampire episode: Would this have been the OCD Vampire Episode where Mulder is attempting to use Garlic to stop them but then in fact drops something on the floor and one has to stop and pick it up?

In re the bees: It wasn't small pox, it was the disease associated with the black-oil. The bees were meant to distribute it. But, that was all a subplot of what led up to "Fight the Future" the movie.

I even got Bruce Harwood's autograph!! *proud*

I think that's the vampire episode. Hehe, good memory! My memory's a little fuzzy but I remember that they also like to untie shoelaces. Mulder got his shoes untied in the end when he woke up dazed and confused, I think...

Anyone watch "The End"? It's the last episode of The X-Files that was filmed in Vancouver before they moved to California for shooting. I remember there was a little article in the newspaper that they needed fans to fill up GM Place. I was so excited that I went

I was one of ~15000 X-Files fans there. It was the scene in the beginning of the show before the theme song and credits showed up. It was the scene where the boy (who can read minds) was in a chess match with some "famous" Russian chess player. They had to shoot the scene a few times and everyone was supposed to shut up since were were supposed to act all tense and all. Some assassin up near the roof then fires a shot, killing the Russian. We were then told by the director to get up from our seats, "panic" and "scream" while running towards the exits. Haha, it was fun. We had to do it a few times.

After shooting, we were treated to a raffle where we could win neat prizes like CD players and other stuff. Unfortunately, I didn't win any, but I got to see David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and the other cast of The X-Files. It was a neat experience. Fans got to ask the cast questions. One girl even asked Duchovny, "Boxers or briefs?"
