| I hereby nickname him The Devil Fishstick.
Fishstick for short, man
Hey, did you go to quals? I missed them. I don't know if you remember but we're in pretty much the same place, haha.

| That variation of my nickname get's annoying around school. It makes me feel weak... Let's say we shorten that to just Fish
Nope, I'm still in the beginners class. Schools almost up so I'll be trying out for varsity soon (it'll be easy). Next year is when I'll actually have a USFA membership and go to tournaments and have the joy of fixing my weapons, ect.

And you should join the USFA whenever you can. One of the freshman foils on my team registered and has already went to a couple tournaments. Even high ranking ones that the varsity starters go to. Sure she came in like 42 of 44, but it's still experience.

| Just because you're not 'allowed' to join USFA or whatever because of the 'rank' you are in your school doesn't mean you actually can't o.0 I say just do it. Tourneys are great experience.

I don't have any of my own gear yet. Or I'm not supposed to atleast. I've been buying a few things here and there behidn my coaches back. He won't mind. I only have 1 LP Etoile Electric foil, 1 LP Etoile Dry foil, Zivkovic Leather/synthetic glove, and a Absolute mask insert that I've rented from the school. Tournaments would be a hassle with me having to barrow others stuff.

| Couldn't you borrow a club/school set or something?
If you're going to be varsity, you really should have your own set!

I was thinking (or rather, my mom was) that if we found a private school near wherever we move with fencing, I could go to school and fence there for gym and stuff... But really, I have no desire to go to school or fence at one. Rules. Icky.

| Inquartata, is by no means a part of me.
A more appropriate quote, by the champion Otto von Bismark, seems to work:
"The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by blood and iron"
or "The only time they bring the sanctity, reason, or morality to the table of war is when they know they'll lose"
Both I find exceptionally fitting.

| Well, then, seeing as Inq doesn't exactly bring any morality or reason to the table of your current war, are you saying he knows in advance that you'll lose? I don't see any clear winners thus far.
His quote was better.
Although I do like your first one, because it's rather true. In that case, however, why do you give so many speeches? Blood is more fun.

I plan to get my own set, I have learned a lot of what to look for from f.net. My parents are paying for it as an incentive to bring up my, erm, less-then-best grades. I've already brought them up to all A's and B's. They also said that if I can get them to A's they'd send me to a nice little fencing camp at Penn State and buy my gear. That'd be fun since I have reletives in PA.
