    Question about fencing.net shop blades

Hi i'm just wondering what type of tips the wired blades come with?

I'm looking at the FIE StM and Vinti blades in particular.

    TIA

Can anyone help? or does anyone know who i can contact to ask? There are are no contact details in the fencing.net shop.

The BF blades are listed as having german points - but the StM blades don't mention what type of point at all.

Craig may not be in a position to answer, but most vendors will give a choice fo french or german...italian if the have them.

PBT is the only vendor I can think of who only offers one type (German)

Top right of fencing.net front page:
    "Call Toll-Free:
    1.877.452.8024"

Link on the bottom of every forum page:
    http://www.fencing.net/forums/sendmessage.php

Center of shop front page, three lines down:
"Order online or call us toll-free at: 877-452-8024."

Bottom left corner of front page and every subsequent shop page:
    "fencing.net
    3347 West Hospital Ave.
    Atlanta, GA 30341
    877-452-8024"

    On description of StM blades:
    "Wired with German (Allstar) points"

And you could always PM Craig.

I also think it's wierd that the BF blades have the point listed, because the only ones fencing.net sells are bare.

That said, I bet if you called them, they would wire your blade with whatever tip you wanted. I've never had a more positive experience with customer service than when I ordered from them.

I live in Australia - do you have any idea how expensive it would be for me to call? and the time diffrence makes it impossible for me to call during buisness hours - i don't think 3am calls would be appreciated.

i'm interested to know where you found the 'all wired with german points' description from. At least it wasn't there when i last looked.

The store does sell BF blades wired:
BF FIE Epee blade - Wired with German point and wire from FWF. Product Code: FWF35021

I'm sorry, the StM was a foil blade. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I assumed you weren't talking about epees.

Anyway, why wasn't any of this information included in your original post?

There are still other options I posted that don't involve a phone call. You're welcome.

service @ fencingdotnet is the email I used to talk to them about my orders when there has been issues.

From what I can recall, all the wired blades I have gotten from them with the exception of LP blades (which have either standard LP or GT points for the FIE blades) come with German points. However if you wanted say an StM with a LP GT pro point, I am sure Craig could accomodate you. Shoot him or Joanna an e-mail and I think you will find they are very happy to help out and offer great customer service.

The StM FIE blades we'll wire with the Leon Paul GT or the FWF German points - whichever one you want. I'm going to update the store next week with the options and in the meantime just put it in the order comments and we'll get that done for you.

For our blades, we highly recommend the Leon Paul point parts, but if you want German (FWF) we will wire those up for you. We don't carry any of the french points.

I suspect that LP, LP-USA, Uhlmann, fechtsport-lagenkamp, etc. each offer only one type, although I haven't tried to confirm with any of them.

LP & LPUSA offer only LP tips, but in two types / generations.
