Where are your medals? Where do your medals, trophies, cups, etc. end up? -

Array Hmmm.... good question. Usually in a drawer or box. But not in a specific one... I'm moving and I've been finding medals I haven't seen in years. While at the same time the golds I got for sweeping all three weapons in our club tourney 2 months ago seem to have gone missing... se la vie "I cannot ensure success, I can only endeavor to deserve it" - Capt. My trophy (singular) from Univ. of South Carolina's Sword in the Stone is sitting on a shelf above my TV in my living room. Hopefully it will have some friends some time soon. I started putting them on the mantel, off to the side. Now it's getting a bit ostentatious. I think most are going into a box...I'll keep the national medals up, though... -

Array Recent ones, on the mantelpiece. Old ones... err, at my parents house somewhere, maybe? -

Array Having just moved, I stripped all the plates off of old trophies (except a favorite sentimental favorite or two), and shipped the actual trophies off to my Univ. club to do whatever they wanted with... I plan to mount all the plates into a frame, or something. Plaques and medals got kept, in a box somewhere, but hope to end up on a totally ostentatious display of a "me wall" along with the trophy plates. I am assuming that my wife will let me put this display in a prominent and appropriate place, probably either in the coal room of the basement, or the back of the garage...
Recently earned medals have been discovered by my three year old daughter who loves them, so she gets to keep them. God knows where they are now... "A well-instructed people alone can be permanently a free people" -- James Madison

Yeah, school trophies are all (both ) still back at MSU to decorate the fencing dispay in the IM building where we practiced. "I cannot ensure success, I can only endeavor to deserve it" - Capt. I keep my medals on a curtain rod. Trophies go on a bookshelf. -

Array Most are in the basement. Recent ones are in the den over the fireplace. "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -
Shoebox, waiting to add a gold one though. Too many bronzes and silvers mock me. Epee Fencers do it to the hilt! -

Array Trophies, plaques, plates, cups, decorative objects--shelf in study
Medals--glass-topped box on another shelf in study
Swords--propped against a third bookshelf, waiting for the umbrella stand.
I'm a teacher--during the school year I bring in every medal or thingamajig and stick it on top of the bookcase next to my desk. "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -

Array They are at other people's homes... the ones that beat me.
Rick
Just kidding. They are in the basement (I think). The exception is one I got a few weeks ago that my daughters are playing with.

Array Basically everything I won is at my old club, and I don't know what they're doing with them. The several medals I've recently won are hanging on a lamp in my room. -

Array Medals, in a decorative wooden box that I keep on a bookshelf.
Decorative trophy things: On the bookshelves.
Swords: One hung up on the wall, the other leaning in a corner waiting to get put up on the wall. -

Array In the basement in a box somewhere, at least those that didn't get donated for youth tournaments.

Array The first dozen or so medals I won I put up in a little row in my home office. The rest are in a drawers or I stripped the plates off the back and gave them out at club ran events. Trophies and such are at one of two clubs or gathering dust in a bookshelf. Swords that are not so cheap as to be embarrasing compared to the rest of my collection go up on the walls. I don't plan on doing anything different until I have some national medals. Then I will probably put those up somewhere. Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!
