Hee hee hee -- I could use one for Bath--apparently the forecast is 65 degrees and rainy.

Pretty, ain't it? I was looking for an umbrella stand in antique stores, and the proprietor of one antique store suggested going to the silver-and-brass-plating store next door--turns out they occasionally salvaged old fire extinguishers, sawed the tops off, and plated them. He hauled this rusty beat-up old thing out of the back room and promised me it would look gorgeous, and I crossed my fingers and ordered one.

My medals, trophies, plaques and cups are all at my parents' house being strewn about my my 8 yr. old niece and 2 yr. old nephew. One plaque is currently a Barbie table. Goodness knows where the others are. If it's shiny, they will come.

    Apples on a Tree

A couple of years ago, I had painted my daughter's room to mirror a garden complete with a very large tree. One day while she was at school I got the idea to start hanging her medals on the tree like apples; now it's become a tradition.

I keep my medals in 2 shadow boxes. 1 for individual, 1 for team.

I also have several mugs and t-shirts and some dress socks I won as prizes.

My trophy and medals are sittin on my desk right in front of me
I've also got a Pez dispenser (Darth Vader), a keychain flashlight and a wrapper from a Cadbury Egg (I know... weird, but it was still a prize... and I did rinse it off!!).

The LEAST they could have done was give you the whole egg!

What kind of tournaments do you guys run up there, anyway?

I have medals stashed in a couple of drawers at random in my room. No other prizes from competitions.

I have one medal. "Most improved male sabre 2006". I'm new.

It's in the drawer to my left right now.

My pathetic collection of bronze medals (working on fixing that) is in a tinfoil-wrapped shoebox labeled "Shiny Stash" under my bed.
