World Championship Game personal comments and banter

I thought I would start this so that the other thread is left only for selections.

I don't think Young-Ho Kim is going to repeat his gold-winning Olympic performance. His mojo was on then but this is over a year later. I could be wrong though.

Hungary for women's team epee and Italy for women's team foil seem to be a favorites here.

Hey 355, I've always been curious about how Korean fencing is. I don't follow world competition much, so I don't know who the big names are (besides the countries Italy, France). Are they any good?

Korea has been building a strong presence in the international fencing community and they medalled in some fencing events for the first time at the 2000 Olympics.
I wouldn't consider Korea an equal to Italy or Germany but I think they are doing much better than the US and Canada.
Just take a look at the FIE website.

I wouldn't call it mojo. Kim won 1st place because he is that good.

He did defeat Golubitsky on his way to the top. 15 - 9 might I add.

However, for him to win this year, it would be much much tougher, since everyone will be studying his games.
