The Zivkovic is the cheapest. That's what I bought.

The Leon Paul visor mask seems much less claustrophobic and easier to breathe in.

It also lets you use replaceable bibs. I was able to remove and replace the visor scratch guard quite easily in just a couple of minutes.

All in all, seems like a great mask. Not as big and heavy as the Uhlmann, less likely to fog up than the Zivkovic.

I'd estimate about 80% of U.S. sabre fencers use the transparent mask made by PBT and sold by us, as gathered from the top U.S. sabre fencers rankings (except of course for the top four women who are sponsored by Leon Paul and one or two others).

I used to hear of fogging being an issue but that now seems to be a rare occurance. Replacing the shield is a simple task that takes about 5 minutes.

A fencer approached me at the Nationals, complaining of how heavy his Uhlmann was and was astonished to see our price ($299.00 at the time but now $329.95) for a bundle including a the mask, spare shield, mask bag, and bottle of anti-fogging solution. Moreover, spare shields are only $29.95. (Compare that to others' where only the mask is above $400.00 and a spare shield will run you at least $40.00.) He promptly ditched his Uhlmann and bought one of ours.

I like the one I bought from Zivkovic. It doesn't seem to fog up at all, and I tend to perspire a good deal. As far as I'm concerned, if I am going to buy something I need for a few tournaments a year, that will stop conducting no matter how carefully I take care of it, and which will probably be the subject of yet more rules changes, I prefer the least expensive one possible.

I don't love any of the visor masks, mind you. I've used others briefly and they all seem about the same to me.

Besides, Bran was nice to me and changed my visor for me when I bought a new visor

This may be more true then not. I have heard rumors that there will be more requirements either this year or next and all the current visor masks will again be decertified.

As you know all masks made before 2004 were decertified and the only manufacturers that have legal masks are AllStar, Gajardoni, Leon Paul, PBT and Negrini (2005).

This is only a rumor.
