I'd estimate about 80% of U.S. sabre fencers use the transparent mask made by PBT and sold by us, as gathered from the top U.S. sabre fencers rankings (except of course for the top four women who are sponsored by Leon Paul and one or two others).
I used to hear of fogging being an issue but that now seems to be a rare occurance. Replacing the shield is a simple task that takes about 5 minutes.
A fencer approached me at the Nationals, complaining of how heavy his Uhlmann was and was astonished to see our price ($299.00 at the time but now $329.95) for a bundle including a the mask, spare shield, mask bag, and bottle of anti-fogging solution. Moreover, spare shields are only $29.95. (Compare that to others' where only the mask is above $400.00 and a spare shield will run you at least $40.00.) He promptly ditched his Uhlmann and bought one of ours.
