| Hello... Ok, it is time for a more formal introduction.
I am "The Reality Monster", I am a 19 year old design student and cub-scout leader from the uk, and have been fencing for a whole 6 days(!)
I have been meaning to fence something other than a foam sabre for about 3 months though, and have learned a fair bit about it from friends during that time, until I finally got fed up of just watching. I will never tire of playing with foam sabres though!
I admit, as the proprietor of a "nonsense board", my posts are likely to tend towards the surreal occasionally, but I will try to retain at least some grip on reality.
Bye for now,

#2 | | Guest | Well ,hello there. Welcome to the board. As you probably noticed many of us don't dwell in reality on occassion so you should fit right in.
Might you know Steve McDonough? He's round about your way.
Again, welcome and good luck in your fencing endeavor.

| Thanks folks! re·al·i·ty (r-l-t)
n. pl. re·al·i·ties
The quality or state of being actual or true.
One, such as a person, an entity, or an event, that is actual: “the weight of history and political realities” (Benno C. Schmidt, Jr.).
The totality of all things possessing actuality, existence, or essence.
That which exists objectively and in fact: Your observations do not seem to be about reality.
Now that we've cleared that one up...
steve,
Foam sabres? Now they are cool. Ideal for trying all those things you could never (safely / legally) do with a real sabre, improptue living room bouts and general messing about. Ours came from www.battling.com but doesn't seem like you can order online yet. I think they are london way somewhere. If you don't have any foam sabres then you should get a set, they are about 8 quid a piece I think.
I however am not from london way, more East Mids. I have some uni friends from Essex, perhaps you know of my friend Jaxx? Or perhaps not.
