Wow! The first place photo in the Action category looks very cool. Excellent action and really nice composition.

We discussed how to handle individual photographers winning multiple categories

FWIW, I don't think that there's a problem with a photographer winning multiple categories if they have images that are appropriate for different categories, but I was very surprised to see one photographer taking more than one "place" in each category. I thought that you'd be taking the highest scoring submission we made in each category. Not that I'm complaining this time. But it should perhaps be made more clear in future contests how multiple submissions from one photographer (in the same category and in different categories) will be handled.

You make a good point, and we've learned some things in this first contest. Since we didn't stipulate more specifically about multiple entries, beyond limiting to five per category, we wanted to be as fair as possible and ensure the best photos were awarded -- regardless of it being from any number of photographers (including just one or two).

Expect that in upcoming contests we'll be a bit more specific.

Easiest way to make sure that it is unbiased is to hide the names of all submissions from the judges till after the decsion based on the photos.

Which is what we did. All of the photos sent in got saved to a single folder and then scored. After we picked the winners, I had to go back through all of the entries to figure out who submitted what.
