| There is danger in the "SockZone" dont go there.
They grow in numbers, all seperated from their mates.
They're a angry lot...forced to live in an alternate universe forever alone while (we) "the sockless in Seattle"are forever mystified with their disappearence.
"Youre Naked", said one foot to the other.

| Let's see so much to comment on. First I'm a so called adult, but I derive a great deal of joy from eating/drinking things that have odd colors, for instance, green apple soda, or blue bubblegum soda, or blue raspberry almost-anything--popsicles, juice, etc. I was becoming known for this among co-workers at my last job. That and my apple beer (non-alcoholic BTW if you've never encountered the stuff). The drunk on the job jokes/comments were never ending. I'll admit I also go for any food that will turn my tongue and mouth funny colors.

On the socks. I remember reading a science fiction story about a dimension where lost things go--the protagonist accessed this through, you guessed it, his drier. There was a whole beach full of lone socks. I've heard that Elvis may be responsible as well for sock loss I also remember hearing a dramatic monologue on laundry a few times, wish I could remember it, it's probably in one of those "monologues for student actors books" or something like that. It centered on lost socks. The speaker gets the idea of putting all the unpaired socks in the drier by themselves in hopes that maybe the mates will return. As I recall, they actually wound up with someone's boxers instead
Can't say much to either folding socks, although I recall that family legend refers to a great aunt who used to iron underwear. I do wonder if the marmot would like to meet the troll that I'm positive must live in the storage room under my basement stairs. Why else would I be unable to find anything down there, if not because he keeps moving things? I won't go into the green hand that I was sure lived in the laundry chute at my grandparents waiting to grab unsuspecting children. Likewise, the monsters that used to reside in the shower, or the nightly visits from Count Dracula, which I wisely thwarted by keeping my head under the covers.Yes, folks, sometimes it's not good to have a vivid imagination.
appropos to nothing, but isn't this thread pretty much that way anyway, I once told my cat she was naked. She looked quite offended and insulted. After all, I suppose she is wearing a very flattering fur coat.

| Rrrrrrrandom...! (but that's a good thing)
Hmmm... socks... I always roll them up together before I put them in the laundry basket (or more correctly while I'm at uni, the laundry carrier bag) then separate them as they go in the machine, at least this way I know they went in the same load. This seems to thwart some lost socks problems... actually I think I have all pairs right now...
Apple beer... hmmm... beer...
I very rarely consume alcohol, but I have found that I like a white beer called Hoegaarden, which our local "real ale" pub serves with a slice of lemon. Ok, so I buy it occasionally just so my mates can sit there almost horrified going "beer with lemon in it???"
Erm, what else...? ah yeah, Zelda, home delivery costs extra. (do i win this, er, debate yet?)

| So, how are you to do that, you're all the way over there?! (You any closer to a decision btw?) Anyhow, I think I may have found a solution, since I'm probably going back home for a bit today (I'm a whole 12ish miles away), so I might get a ride to the 24hr Tescos on the way back. But I'm still not going to buy any Ribena.

I wasn't going to be really annoying and ask what a woodchuck or a groundhog is, I was going to be good and look it up on the net. But, then, I didn't, so I'm going to be really lazy and ask...

| I know you're in London. It seems far. I mean, for a person who goes to university 12 miles from home, it is quite far. Everything is relative.

| Hmm good point, I never thought of that. I don't even want to think how being spiderman would influence their fencing...

Hmm, I'm trying to think how a sock might show its anger... any suggestions? Perhaps with odour, or perhaps one day the sock people will come and attack us all for our years of abuse to them...?
Reminds me of a game I had as a small child*, one of the forfeits was to make a noise like an angry tortoise. Another was to simulate a tomato going through the sound barrier, as I recall. Ah, its all coming back to me now...
Haze
*some would claim that I am still a small child, but anyway.
