canting a french grip epee for pommeling

I'm looking at picking up a cheap french grip epee to mess around with pommeling. As we have no pommelers in our club, how much and what sort of cant should I put in the weapon once I've gotten it?

This is a hard question to answer as different people hold their hands differently. In general, the cant for a weapon balanced for pommeling is more extreme than one for normal fencing, but you must keep it within the 15cm of the guard.

You will need to try different cants until it feels the lightest when you pommel. If you hold it normally, it will not feel right.

I am sorry, I can't give you more.
