Went to the first showing of the real first episode at 9 months pregnant. Baby kicked the whole time. I think she enjoyed it too. Had her the next day.

sounds good, Dame, if you have another go see Dune and name your next one "the knapsack paddyshak" .....unless of course you can actually pronounce the title given to the little whatever it was that came about when the sands turned into water and the moon turned red. Anyone out there remember Dune? What was the title of the prince guy who did whatever it was that he did?

I think they jumped the shark once the Ewoks showed up, and I stopped being a fan of star wars. I liked the first ones though.

Star War? No we are talking my language!

Ok I am a Star Wars nut. Though I must admit that it has gone downhill ever since the Return of the Jedi. But I saw SW the 2nd week it opened, in a drive-in for those that can remember what that is, and I was hooked. Empire and Jedi I was the first one in line at my local theatre during the first showing on the first day. Even got my picture in one paper for the Jedi premiere.

While I am disappointed in George for his feeble attempt in Episode I, I must say the end fight scene with Darth Maul makes up for alot. But really, what is this crap about the ... dare I say it... "Midaclorians" (sp?) What was he smoking there? I mean here Lucas has taken a lot of flak over the years about the hype surrounding SW, and how to some it was like a religion. So this is his answer to explain away the mysticism of the Force? Then to add insult to injury, he goes and makes Anakin's birth an "immaculate conception"

The over all story wasnt terrible, but the few things in it that drew away from the future episodes, which we have already seen, just drag the whole thing down. I thought the performances by Ewan McGregor, and Liam Neeson were excellent! I loved Ian McDiarmid as the Senator Palpatine. I wont bother to mention the bothersome aquatic creature that was only put in as comedy relief for the kiddies.

All in all, IMHO, I liked episode I. It was ok, not great like it could have been. I hope that George listens to some of what the average person is saying and not to any of the Hollywood 'yes' men when he makes this next one. With less than a year till it's release, we shall soon see.

This is of course all my thoughts and conjectures on the subject. Anyone and everyone are invited to expound or refute my claims.

star wars was sorta good, i liked it, in fact the star wars bar theme was my impetus for suggesting the Silver Lames for the Strip Joint in our other folder, however, no one saw it.

I agree, downhill since ROTJ or Phantom menace. But the orignals were good. Episode 2 looks like it's going to be good, from what I've seen. I hope George took to heart the dissapointment in ep.1, and made ep.2 great.

The only thing worth mentioning about Star Wars is the the upcoming Mega-Multiplayer Role Playing Game - StarWars Galaxy.
I think this game will be in particularly attractive to fencers for we will get a chance to beat each other on the head with a light sabre online.

    The online gaming sounds great!

For those of you that didn't catch the asides, little Darth was not an immaculate conception! I'll catch some flak for this, but if you watch the movie and listen carefully to the dialog, you'll catch it. What is is, you ask?

Little Darth's father is Sabulba the junk merchant.

    Doug-

Ok here is some Minor flak!

I definately didnt catch that. I recall Anakin's mother telling Qui'gon, that there was no father and later Qui'gon mentioning the possibilty that the ~shutters~ midaclorians caused the conception. I didnt mean "immaculate" conception as in the religious sense. But the fact that he didnt have a father.

I like your proposal and now I will have to go back and watch it again and pay close attention in that area for reference to what you are suggesting. Interesting!

As for an multiplayer SW online game! I like that idea.. will have to research this further. Anyone know when this is coming out?
