| A Star Wars lunatic friend of mine, told me once that the fight coordinator of Star Wars wanted to create a Martial Art based o the concept of Lightsabre.
As production tehniques of the time limited his fight direction he based the fights on Epee(and broadsword). In the fight between Darth and Obi-Wa you can see what he means. Aside from the two-handed style it's very similair.
As the Trilogy progressed the atyles the got access to more styles and consequently the they moved farther from the original concept. This is why Ewan Macgregors Obi-Wan will fight differently from Alec Guiness. |

| well, episode one's style is better, especially in light of the fact that a lightsabre should have no weight, and in the original style, they seemed to have quite a bit of heft to them.

| More semi-useless info:
I'm nearly finished reading Dune. Paul Atreides/Mua'dib's title is Kwisatch Hadderach, which is a Bene Gesseret (the religious order of which Jessica and other characters are members) term that is supposed to mean the shortening of the way. Incidentally, Mua'dib is the Fremmen name for a small type of desert dwelling mouse.
As all my friends know, never ask about anything remotely literary in my presence, you'll probably get more information than you could possibly ever want.

| This is a poll on Yahoo Movies
George Lucas recently announced the full title for the next Star Wars movie: "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones". What's your opinion on this title?
Thanks for voting! 1625 votes to date
I like it! - very "Flash Gordon-esque" 16% 260 votes
It's ok - but not as interesting as "The Phantom Menace" 27% 446 votes
Yuck! - if the movie is anything like this title, we're in trouble. 56% 919 votes
Attack Of The Clones? What do you think? |

| I can't make my mind up about Lucas. Cynical a******e or marketing genius. There is a law of diminshing returns when it comes to sequels. The follow ups are invariably useless. Take your pick on examples. Lets face it he can't write scripts, but he is good on the concept and effects. He should hand over the reins to someone else (imagine a Tim Burton Star Wars!) and just be the executive producer or something. Look at Empire Strike Back. It was directed by his mentor and is easily ythe best of the 3.
Attack of the Clones - what a stupid name for a film. How about alternative suggestions? I'm all for Star Wars Episode 2! (Noone I know calls the 1st prequel The Phantom Menace it's always Episode 1).
