Phoenix Locations?

I live in phoenix and have searched forever and can't find a good quality place to fence and take lessons. I found the Phoenix Falcons but they are way too expensive for me. Anyone know of anywhere thats cheap and decent?

Lots of Phoenix clubs

Try Arizona Fencing Center, in SW Mesa near US 60 and Country Club. I have two daughters there now. Costs are quite a bit lower than at Falcons, and they have Olympic-quality coaching. Depending on your age, there's also Salle Diablo at ASU, where a third daughter is a member. You don't need to be an ASU student. Check the Arizona Division Web site for links to all the clubs in AZ - there are several more which might be more convenient depending on where you live.

Salle Diablo, where the number of the parry shall be: 6, 6, 6.

Arizona Fencing Center

I live in Hawaii but I always drop in at AFC when I'm visiting my family in Phoenix. It's a great facility with some thing like 7 strips and mounted scoring machines, bleachers for spectators, tv lounge for fencing parents, a well stocked equipment room for people that don't have their own equipment. The owner Rick Moss is a great guy and always takes care of me when I drop in.

Hey! Hey! HEY!!! You know the first rule about Salle Diablo...You are in such trouble at the next chapter meeting*

I suspect Salle Diablo is going to be the cheapest. If memory serves, it's $50 a semester for non-ASU student use of the Student Recreation Center plus $25 per semester for Salle Diablo membership. There's a wide range of skill levels ranging from really really good to... me.

As far as I know, there aren't any places in Arizona to get gear. When you hook up with a club, ask the folks there who they use for mail order. You might be able to get a club discount.

*where we sacrifice a bottle of Chianti (and a member of a competing club) to the dark lord AldoNaldi in exchange for good refereeing at tournaments. It never works, but we keep hoping.

Take the I-60 to Country Club Ave exit. Go south on Country Club one block and make a right on W. Iron Ave.Go left on S. Vineyard and a right into the driveway of the eastgate Office Park. The club is in suite 115.
