| None of those are my reasons and there's no "other" option. Fole is plawed.
I started fencing because I had nothing better to do and it looked neat.

Though these were some minor ones, my major inspiration was my need to get up off my lazy arse and get some exercise.

| My inspiration was deffenitly the fact that no other women's sport would let me hit people. My inspiration to keep fencing is my ex-boyfriend. |

I wonder how many fence out of misandry?
-not being chauvenistic, just plainly curious (while perhaps firing up the old thread jack)...

| New idea for a thread? Why don't you start a thread and poll for it? I'm sure it'd get responses. I just wish male fencers would take women more seriously. When I fence for the Varsity Boy's team at my club, it takes broken bones and running them off the strip for other guys to take me seriously. It helps me win, but it is kind of degrading. And I don't hate guys, I like them very much. They've always been my best friends because there's none of that resent you behind your back for years on end for something small. If they're mad, they hit you and it's over.

| Well, I'd guess your respect problem is more one of age of the guys, although there are of course exceptions... as far as misandry - it was mostly a joke...but be my guest on the poll, if you like (it might go over better from the fairer gender). |
