Epee Rewire

I am attempting to rewire an Epee using Leon Paul wire tips and barrel (my first rewire job). Do you need a different point setter for Leon Paul? The epee that is the victim of my work had German parts before and I had a tool kit to work on these parts. Any help would be appreciated.

no, as long as the point setter can get in the barrel. the point setter is basically just a thing you use to put the cup of the wire into the barrel with equal pressure so it sits flat in the barrel. actually, I dont even use a point setter, I just use screwdrive. but again, I am cheap

I think I've seen different point setters for German and French cups, but what BySword said to basically true. You just need to make sure that the cup is set evenly and firmly in on the bottom of the barrel.

Actually, the French and German block designsa are different...Germans have that little projection on top.

The LP block is essentially the same as a French, so it wou want to use a point setter, get a French one (Post sells them). if you use a German one, the center post on the setter could damage the end contacts of the wire...but if you're careful, you can use a screwdriver in a pinch.
