| Accessing Fencing Mail Account? Anyone else having problems accessing their fencingmail account? I've been able to for a bit. http://freemail.fencingmail.com
doesn't work. Is it down for maintenance, or something else? Am I the only one unable to actually download the home page?

| Who do you contact to find out how much longer it will be down? If it's gone permanently? That would suck, my complete email address book is on my account.
Anyone know?
It's been down since Thursday, June 29. Almost a week....

| Anyone heard back from Craig? Is there someone at freemail or another company that runs the service? Its been over a week without email, and I don't even know if it will ever be back up or not.
Very bizarre.

| No news I left a PM for Craig Harkins last night asking if he knew anything about this. I haven't gotten acknowledgement that he's read the PM yet. |

I sent one on July 4 and hope for some clarification soon.

| I'd bet it would be hard for there to be a worse week to get in touch with anyone in American fencing community as everyone is at Nationals or the beach for the 4th... If Craig even knows there is a problem, he may not be able to do anything about it before SN is over. Just a guess...and you have my condolences. Gav could have some useful info, send him a PM. |

Thanks,

| Well I had a look.
Had a quick look...
I can't get the address to resolve which suggest that it's deleted for some reason.
Could be a few things.
As I am not sure what the IP adress is can't do much more.
Good news is that I mailed craig and he replied so he is getting his emails.
Hopefully he'll get back to me - or you - sometime soon.
I don't have one of these accounts myself - is it only web based?
If not; what are the POP annd SMTP settings? |

HELP!!! | My PM to Craig Harkins still hasn't been acknowledged. I agree that this is really getting annoying. I'm not a big e-mail user, but it is my only means of communication for certain things. As it is, I have no way of letting people know that I'm temporarily out of touch.
I'm not sure who is in charge of fencingmail but this is very unprofessional. If you're going to host an e-mail site, you have an obligation to your users to provide uninterrupted service or to at least communicate information when there's a problem. Since fencingmail is linked to fencing.net, I would think that whoever is running fencingmail checks in here and should be aware of the problem by now. |

| In answer to Gav's question As far as I know, fencingmail is web-based only. No POP or SMTP settings. |

I even pay for my account, which means that fencingmail actually violates a contract they have with me. Anyway I sure hope something will happen soon. |

| Today is probably a 'down' day for Craig as the f-net store says there will be delays through tomorrow, but I'd expect he will do what he can when he can. |

| I've recieved a "discrete" Private Message telling me that I had recieved a notification that the fencingmail program (or whatever the terminology) has been discontinued.
After receipt of several messages from other persons bewildered at this statement, I also state that I recieved no warning.
I remember seeing on the homepage of http://freemail.fencingmail.net the term "Permanent." One of the draws of the service.
Now, I have lost personal, and business email addresses. I have lost important emails on file. I'm not the only one....can this information even be retrieved, or did I just get screwed? (Yes, I am a little upset with no warning that my account no longer exists......)

| Howdy all... I just created this screename in order to jump in on the "What's up with fencingmail?" thread. I've had my email ther for several years now, ever since I took up fencing in college. Unfortunately, all of my resumes, contacts, and other professional life related information list my fencingmail account as my email account. I'm in the process of trying to change everything, but since I am a contractor, this holds the potential to cost me a lot of money. If what civiltech says is true, then I am going to be mighty upset. Would anyone happen to know what company/people run fencingmail? |

| On the fencingmail site it says it is run by fencing.net. So that would be Craig Harkins i guess. |

| Here is a link to Google's cache version of freemail.fencingmail.com. You can't acces your account through this site, but it clearly states that the services provided by fencingmail are permanent, and that they site is owned by fencing.net. http://66.249.93.104/search?q=cache:...&client=safari |
