Polls! And how to get them to post at the same time as the actual post?

Is there anyway we could get polls to post at the same time as the post explaining them?

When creating a thread tick the little box that asks whether you want to post a poll with the thread ...

He means that when you do that, there's a lag between the thread being posted and the poll being posted. Go look at the number of polls that have the first couple posts saying "Where's the poll?"

When you click the "Submit New Post" and then the poll page loads the actual post part of the poll is posted for everyone to read while you are still filling out the poll part.

Go make a poll, and have whatever forum you are making the poll in open. Click the submit new post on the first page and before you click submit on the poll page refresh the general forum and you will see your post sans poll. Then finish the poll part and click refresh and blammo the poll-less poll will be poll-less no more.

So the problem is that others can see the thread starter while you create the poll?

Creating a poll is not a problem.

This the nature of the way in which Vbulletin creates threads I think. I'm not even sure I would consider it a bug or a fault. I'll leave it to craig to decide whether this is actually something that needs looked at.

As a workaround I sugest you don't take so long over your polls.
