| What do you think is a cool name for a Fencing Club? I'm starting a fencing club in my town, and finding out that the 'creativity' factor in my body is at about negative 7% ... I have not been able to think of a cool sounding name for it.
If you guy's can think of a cool name you wouldent mind me using for my club, I would really appreciate it! |

| How about--"Chardon Fencing Club"? Or Northeastern Ohio Fencers' Alliance, or somesuch?
I'm a sucker for geographic names--that way I can tell where the club is....

Something ominous!

| I suggest something easy to spell. I am continually baffled by the many ways that people are able to misspell the name of my club (Spartak), so anything more complicated and/or French is asking for trouble. (A friend of mine represents a club named Coeur du Lion - go figure how often the vowels go wrong *there*....)
Place names are great, but try not to go for ones that, when made into acronyms, are indistinguishable from fifty gazillion other clubs. Like BFC.
I admit I get a kick out of *really good* "sense of humor" club names - one of the best ever is Wicked Cool Fencing Club. That's just wicked cool, man! But a lame humorous name is likely to haunt you for the rest of your days.
So I'd go for basic and dignified (without being pretentious). |

| Hi!
My club - C4 Fäktklubb - ( in English, C4 Fencing Club) is named after the King which founded this town. There are 10 other clubs in town, doing everything from American Football to Tyroler Big Band, who also call themselves C4 something-or-another.
I know of few towns so beholden to their founders - the local city even has named all its conference rooms after King Christian IV´s mistresses.
Have a nice time!

| Thanks for all the great ideas guy's, this is really helping!
I was thinking of something along a neat sounding animal name.. like 'The Flying Squirrels' or something.. although I keep getting stuck on the cute, fuzzy type animals...
Any exotic sounding animals come to mind? |

I dunno, but your motto for bumper stickers could be " I've got a Chardon for fencing"

| I think that the winner would be "wicked cool" fencing club, but that is already taken.
As said, don't do something FC or something FA because there are already 8000000000 clubs with your abbreviation and it gets confusing. |

ok, so its not official, but that is really the best way to describe us, and if we ever do a team name that's what we use.
as long as we dont have to fence each other, i guess...

Have a nice time!
