Array Sabre In The Surf Jul 29, 2006 The Savannah Fencing Club is proud to announce our second annual Sabre in the Surf!
This year's events are going to be similar to last year's with all events being fenced near sunset on the beach and with the finals being fenced waist deep in the water! We're again, going to have a picnic after all the fencing is done, so be prepared to lounge around on the beach for a little while if you do attend (it's a rough life isn't it?)! As far as the picnic goes, it will be potluck. We ask that everyone bring something to share with all the attendees.
Last year participants arrived at the beach early and enjoyed themselves for a while until the proscribed time, and then fenced as the sun raced into the horizon.
This year we're also having one of our classic Savannah Fencing Club martini parties. I know you have all seen our patch, now come find out why we picked the classic cocktail as our emblem!
Unfortunately, we will be charging $10/head to fence in both event to cover the costs of the prizes, and another $10/head for the martini party, to cover the costs of the food, drinks, and venue. The good news is the cover costs of the party opens up the martini bar (which will also have a few other drinks available) and the light food we will be stocking.
EDIT: Please PM (or otherwise contact) me if you are interested in attending the martini party on Friday July 28th!!!
