Bad Vniti Bellguard? I was kinda puzzled about the "indestructable" vniti epee bellguard. I recently bought one at the Georgia Games from the f-net booth and put it on a newly assembled weapon last week. This weekend I finished fine tuning the weapon and decided to fence with it at practice. I used it for a few bouts, and was looking at it and i was very suprised to see that the vniti bell guard had a dent in it. I didn't take any hard hits to the bell, and I have always heard that they never dent, so I was wondering if this could possibly be a flawed or bad bellguard. Any opinions? -

Array I wonder if "indestructible" necessarily means "un-dentable". -
Dax:
This is a first for me.
You might want to contact Craig at Fence net and let him look at it.
To answer your overall question: No its not normal for one of these things.

Thanks. And to be specific, its not a huge gigantic dent of doom or anything. Its just a normal dent that most generic bellguards accumulate after a few months of use. And thats the main part that made me question it. Thanks for the feedback. -

Thanks for the feedback. personally, I've never had my vinity guards dented (yet?). you might just have a faulty one since ones I bought from fencing.net just hold up alright. -
Mine did the same thing. Its not a huge dent that I would need to punch out but it is a dent. Nothing is "undentable". -
Thats what I was thinking. I just must have been lucky. -

Come by the booth at Nationals and I'll get you squared away. As twister said, shouldn't dent on you after just a couple of bouts. I'll take a look and show this one to the vendor.
Craig -
Thanks, Ill see you at Nationals. -
Although it rounds like yours may have been subpar they do dent. They're like anything else. If you're one of those people that's hell on guards to begin with it might not be that big of a surprise. I have known people that dent these with more or less the same frequency that the rest of us dent regular guards. I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.
