| Looking for Vet Saber Women in Atlanta!! Hey ladies - Wondering if any of you will be arriving in Atlanta earlier in the week and would be interested in getting in some casual bouting. I never get to fence vet women and always feel like the event is so quick. Thought it might be nice to spend some time with some of you and get some fun (yet serious) fencing time in. I'm arriving Saturday, not sure what we're doing Sunday, should be available Monday afternoon & evening, Tuesday evening and of course I'll see you all Wednesday afternoon! |

Usually Nadia and I find at least one day that we practice a little foil after refereeing; I would love to practice some sabre, and maybe we can get Nadia to do some too! |

| I'm also arriving on the 4th and will be there 4 days.
I hope to have an opportunity to take some pictures of other WSVet50 fencers to put onto my web page at http://www.lindajdunn.com/fencing/v50ws.html
No, I'm not going to take pictures between bouts.
I'll be easy to find this year. I'll be the one limping and possibly wearing a knee brace. The hamstring has healed. The knee has not. If you see me, point me towards the ice.

| I'll be officiating (my first national event), so I'll be there the whole time (minus the two days I get off, most likely)

| How does either Monday evening or Tuesday evening work for any of you? Jay has offered to come down and do a little off time unofficial directing if we want to get really serious!! |

| *salute!*
Obsessive Compulsive Referee at your service! Completely customizable, re-configurable refereeing "style/persona" to suit your practice needs, depending on what sort of referees you would like to prepare for that week. While I'm fairly certain that this year, I won't be "pursuaded" by certain FOC's to take the mandatory days-off like last year (mainly because I had a rental car), I am still looking into contingency plan in the event that I am released from service earlier in the day.

Now, now, we had to work hard to convince them to make you available for our trip to Reno... :)

| I hear there was a lot of "arm twisting" to get some of you to Reno...then again, maybe not!! BTW - anyone opposed to inviting some of the vet men - I certainly don't want to sound exclusive or sexist! |

If it weren't for that side trip, I would've never thought to consider the possibility of staying extra couple of days after NACs for mini-vacations throughout this season (i.e. Key West after Miami NAC, Santa Fe after Albuquerque, etc).

(in front of Bout Committee table)
GregD came down to the floor level to convince me to consider an alternative means of spending my time here. "Now, do you really... (both hands open and forward) I mean (with great emphasis and inquiring expression) do you REEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLLYYYYY want to stare at this fencing for 9 days straight? (hands open wide and slight shaking of head) Come on."
Sharon, still sitting up at the BC shuffling referee assignments, "Fine, get him outtta here. I can always overuse him tomorrow."
Me. Um.... well... errr..... (looking back and forth) In my confusion, I was sold by GregD's "CLEARLY this is an obvious choice!" look. So I deferred to their wisdom.

| I may or may not be able to stop by--it would be nice to play a little but I also need to buy new trousers and get checked into my hotel.

| Why don't we consider Tues evening - after dinner? I'll be at the Marriott - arriving Saturday afternnoon - call and leave me a message once you all arrive, let me know how/where to reach you and I'll see if I can pull together a time and location to meet and get back to you. Number for the hotel is 404-521-0000 Hope this works out!! Donna (Pepe) |
