    Ocean's 11

If you've seen it, what were your thoughts?

I must say that the story of this movie turned out to be better than I expected. OK so it's not cool to glorify thieves but like in Sci-Fi Channel's "Invisible Man" (another great watch) they emphasize the humanity and vulnerability of the people. Sure they're theieves but in some ways they're just your regular Joe Shmoe, albeit a bit richer

Sure the plot was pretty predictable at almost all turns but some of it kept you guessing. My friends and I probably pissed off the rest of the theater with our constant flow of comments and obnoxious laughter but hey we had a good time. If possible, I would have walked right back into the theater and watched it again. Definitely.

On a note related to fencing, I think my club starts up again soon! And I think I might be trying my hand at two weapons this semester, just to see which I like better: foil or epee. For the moment, I'm going to get some much needed rest!

Since I can't stop typing tonight, I think I'll mention another movie you must rent if you haven't done so already: O Brother, Where Art Thou? Great stuff! Now I'll shut up.

    "Gopher, Everett?"

Yeah, "O Brother" is great. Maybe I'm just dense, but the final heist of Ocean's Eleven kept surprising me. I loved it!

Nah you're not dense! My friends and I kept telling each other, "I'm confused!" during the entire robbery! But some things you could just see, like the van blowing up and stuff.

Aaaaaaaaaaagh! You quoted my favorite line from "O Brother"!!!!!! I run around saying that to everyone! OK you're my Person of the Day just for that.

"No thank ya, Delmar. A third of a gopher would only rouse my appetite up without bedding it back down again."

"That's okay, Everett. You can have the whole thing. Me and Pete stumbled across a whole gopher village..."

"You didn't know that at the time!"

"Well I stole it till I did know!"

Reminder: This is the Ocean's Eleven thread! 'Course, it's up to Scaramouche, I guess.

How many of you have seen the original film, with the "Rat Pack"?

Sorry I kinda helped the thing go off-topic there But when I get a chance to go quoting O Brother I'm not gonna pass it up lightly!

So here's a comment actually pertaining to this whole thread: Must say that my favorite scene was the elevator shaft with Matt Damon and George Clooney. Especially cuz of the Cockney guy with the "pinch". Is that what it was called? Lordie it's been two days and already I'm forgetting stuff.

Psst! The real reason I liked that scene was because Damon and Clooney were wearing tight black shirts and cool pants! hehehe!

Query: are the actors with the British accents really British, or US actors doing really pathetic fake accents...? <img src="graemlins/dunce.gif" border="0" alt="[Dunce]" /> <img src="graemlins/jawa.gif" border="0" alt="[Jawa]" />

Ok, I saw the movie way after it's opening night. The comment I want to make is, I really like the clothes the actors were wearing in the film. They all looked really sharp in those suits. Whomever was the wardrobe person did a really good job. As for the movie, I loved it...but doubt someone could pull that off. They just were too damn lucky at not getting caught! It's good fun.
