Best First Jacket

I'm a new old fencer and about to purchase my first jacket, part of a starter set from Absolute. I've used a heavy cotton Santelli club jacket for my early training and I do prefer all cotton (natural fabric) street clothes, but does it make sense to switch to an all nylon jacket?

Nylon will tend to have a little bit of stretch to it and will dry out faster than a cotton jacket.

PM me as we've just received a large shipment of our beginner range nylon uniforms - only the plastron are up on our site right now b/c we're inventorying the rest.

Well, by your screen name, I would assume that you are not going to be having any growth spurts then, at least not vertically. My first jacket was cotton, a Santelli, but the comfort of a nylon jacket and the flexibility it affords are great. Also, Craig is right about drying time, and that is important on several levels. They (nylon stretch) can sometimes be a little slight on the protection side, so I would also recommend you look for a robust version of a nylon jacket and a good robust underarm protector.
