I don't notice all contact while fencing...probably a product of doing a lot of epee...and the tendency until a few years ago to let "minor" contact pass without a card. Oh, well. And, yeah, I was mostly just surprised by the call because I didn't notice any contact, and I thought that you were calling it on the bell guards. Well, that, and I was disturbed to have to fence basically an entire DE with a yellow card hanging over my head. I did not want to be giving touches to Skwerer (and having my touch annulled) for further contact or turning or whatever. There were some others there that look more like foilists than I do. Fornaro made it to the 8, but he was out of shape and looked dead on his feet in the quater-finals. Because of some odd match ups, others were eliminated much earlier. Alter was out in the 32, I think. Stephen lost in the 32, too. But we were missing a lot of the regular semi-finalists from previous Divisionals (Toomey, Guevarra, you, Zay).
I hope we'll see you out competing next year. I'll be interested to see what your game looks like on these timings. -
I didn't say I wouldn't card I said that I see a lot of fencers getting away with it. I'm fairly hard about out or up to avoid a card, not all refs are. Go to the well until the well is dry. When the well is dry find a new well. Similar Threads -
