| Alan! We've missed you! How's France? Did you have a hand in producing this magazine?
I've heard good things about this magazine - I can't wait to read it. |

| Well done to all involved. I am inmpressed. This looks like a good magazine. I really want to see a translated version. Hell; I would even consider buying a copy.
Interesting gatefold pic - at least one of the fencers was over in Edinburgh for CdN. Wonder if it was from their trip?
Rep to Alan! |

Well you can't buy it because it is free and there is no paper version
(at least for now).

| Alan,
I meant that, if I saw it on a newstand (in English), I would buy it. Any chance of an English version? My french is not up to reading it.
Who is producing it? Why? I have lots and lots of questions. |

You may contact the team at http://www.escrime-passion.com/
or email david@escrime-passion.com
They are looking for contributions (photos, articles ...) but i don't know if a project of an English version exists ...

| Thanks Alan,
I may well drop the guy a line - even if it's just to say thanks.
And at this point it seems like a good opportunity to ask the whole board: what are the magazines like where you are?
What are the Italian magazines like? (I can only imagine ... :grin
What are the germans ones like? (efficiently presented I think!)
etc etc |

| I've got a printout (note to self - remember to turn printer quality down when printing on the expensive colour printer ...).
I've had a good loook through the articles and there are three I would like to see translated.
1. The AskFred article (page 18). This is the Fencing Result and Events Database. There appears to be a project to use this for the French rankings. No idea who official this is till I read the article! Take a look at AskFred for yourself.
2. La Fainte Paraite. I'd be interested in seeing what the french coaching article is. It's annotated with good pictures and looks interesting.
3. The article on the "new timings". I know that certain memebers of the French community were up in arms about the changes. I'd like to read the article. |

Again, it looks very interesting. And I'm sad that I hated french for all the 3 years I studied it! If only I'd known I was to take up fencing...

| i know that David was looking into getting the source for askFRED from peet and adapting it to a site for the french (askFROG??? ( )... I don't know if there has been any headway on that, but presumably the article talks about that... but knowing very little french, I can't say.
