Is it O.K. to bend the tang on blades that have already been used? Is it a really bad idea to take blades that are 2 or so months old and try to bend the tangs on them? In other words do you think they will break? -

Array I used an epee blade for about a year before I new about how to do armoury. That blade is now 2 years old, and the only one that is still around from my original epee blades. A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger." -

Array I had to bend the tang on a saber blade that was about a year old to fit the way I wanted into a different hilt.
*shrugs*
Mine seemed okay, but that's also a saber blade... "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -
Shouldn't be any more likely to break than when new, unless you've put a lot of shearing force on the tang already and it is weakened. Be careful not to pinch or stretch any wires or such you have on it. -

I would also advise against bending a 'leftie' blade to 'rightie', and vice versa. But that goes without saying, more or less. -
If you are bending it with a box wrench, don't be like stupid me and have the wires caught in between it all as you bend...
Unless you like soldering. The sweet is never sweet without the sour. -
