Array I have been using Fencing Time to run all events at the New York Athletic Club for the last year and a half. Although I am probably not your typical user (am finishing my masters in information systems), I have to say that for local and regional club tournaments, there is nothing faster, more flexible, more intuitive, or better than Fencing Time. I have tried the other applications and have lost much hair in the process. There were a few key missing elements (point seeding and repechage) missing in earlier versions, but they have pretty much all been addressed in the 2.0 release. $50 is nothing... I would pay multiples of that for the application considering how much time and hassle it has saved us.
Last weekend we ran Epeepalooza, and it was the first event where we took preregistrations on AskFred and downloaded them into Fencing Time. The entire process was simple and seamless... I wasn't even at the event, and those there (who had never used the application) had no trouble at all.
Above and beyond this, Dan is extremely accessible and responsive to work with you on any issues or listen to new feature requests. I wouldn't even know who to go to for those other apps... For last year's Epeepalooza event (where we usually have repechage), Dan went out of his way to rush the feature in so that we could beta test it at the event.
The extra large pools and portability issues aside, there simply is nothing better out there.
Kudos Dan

PS. I would go larger than 32 on the pools. At our January 1st Hangover Open every year, we usually get crowds in the 30's to 40's and have a gigantuan pool where everybody fences everybody else. -
unless you're talking about a situation where something is right on the scoresheet and wrong in the computer...
It's the only kind of data entry error I know of.
(unless something was wrong on the scoresheet and differently wrong on the computer, I guess) -
example of something blatently wrong on a pool sheet that i've seen come in (with the math done out)... a bout that ended V4-V4 (in sabre)
