| Awww. That reminds me of a weekend last year when I was reffing three tournaments in two days and had coaching between two of my reffing gigs. I remembered to bring everything I needed for all of the events - except a pair of shorts for coaching. Nothing like trying to demonstrate a lunge in a tight skirt that comes down to your knees! |

| Attack from the left.

| Right could have had point in line. |

Well, we'll see. Right still has time for a parry-riposte at the moment of this shot. :-)
Of course, calling action from descriptions or a still photo is really impossible.
It might also be point in line, right. Left attacks onto the line.
Or maybe it's attack left, counter attack right, and right just got the arm extended first.
As they say at the referee seminar, it's important to practice your refereeing skills. |

| Attack from left is timed out by wrist hit by right. |

| I see left drawing back, possibly after a failed parry or beat attempt. Attack from right, or attack in preparation from right. |

| Fools, this is clearly under epee "no rules" rules. Umbrella attack is going to fall short, whereas the handbag appears to be making serious contact soon. Thus, too soon to call, but more likely than not a point for the handbag.

| A "swish" from the left.
I'm sorry, but this is a dumb and pointless thread.
Hope that helps.

| under the new timings the handbag would be locked out by the umbrella attack into the preparation. |

| Meh. You missed Have At You's very cogent observation that it can only be two epeeists. Note the, ah, somatotypes of the two ladies...
Classical epeeists, at that, given the back arm positions.

| I think this belongs in gtmac's funny pic of the day thread. That said, it looks like the fencer on the right has alread hit with a stop (or a line) and is now retreating. We don't know when it was established, so I'm going to assume a stop thrust. If she makes it out in time and the attack from the left falls short, she's golden. I think they're fencing dry, so there's no lockout time to think of, just the referee. Very few boxes I've seen are Epee/Foil/Sabre/Umbrella and Purse.

| But you need the latest one the FIE just changed the timings to give the straight attack by the umbrella greater precedence over the flick done by the purse |
