| New Adidas "En Garde" cheapie shoe Just saw this new Adidas "En Garde" shoe at the Allstar website. The price is good so it's a question of what the design and quality are like. |

| Shoe in the $50 range, I would expect it to be like the LiNing then. Adidas $150 shoe has durability issues with the sole, I don't expect those will be solved in the $50 version. (Except you can buy 3 of these for the price of 1 of the other ones.)

| The fencing shoe market seems to be getting a bit crowded. I wonder when someone will come up with a chart showing the various options. |

| Well, the regular, hexagonal adidas shoe tread has been fairly durable, unlike the adistar version, so I don't think there should be nearly as much of an issue with that part of it. |

| I'm dissapointed.
Its not silver, it doesnt have glitter, flashing lights, hydraulics, sequins or wings.
Adidas, you were getting so good at making fencing shoes.
This shoe, my friends, is a step in reverse.

I liked the look of them and the price is very good. They're white, and the design is almost identical to that of the D'Artagnan II's. I would suspect these to be just about as good/bad as them, comfortwise.

I like that people are starting to look at the sub-70USD price point for fencing shoes more seriously. I'm looking forward to trying on the Absolute shoe in Atlanta, and I may check out these if anyone has them on-hand.

| I have actually seen the shoe and i must agree that it is almost identical to the d'artagnan IIs. The only downsides are that the mesh doesn't seem as breathable as the d'arts and the sole i don't think will last long.

The orangy rubber is grippy, but seems very robust. They are light, flexible but also supportive.
They are a very welcome return to the traditional fencing shoe (away from silver monstrosities). The LiNing shoe is too big and clumsy for my female foilist and it has worn through in about 2 months. Which is why we needed the En Gardes |
