Epee tip, barrel and wire compatiblity problems

I have a epee blade equiped with FWF german point(100% sure, it has their logo on it), I tried to require it with LP epee wire, however the block was too big. In fact even the LP point setter was big for the barrel.

Does anyone know the compatiblity of LP wire with other barrels? As far as I know it works on a french barrel that I got from BG; and some1 told me before LP wire can fit in german barrel too. I really love LP wire, because it's so cheap. If LP wire is not compatible with german tip, does anyone know a CHEAP alternative that does?

I have seen no problem with compatability. In fact I make my own wires using Leon Paul parts and have had no problem with them fitting in either German or French style.

There was a problem once with too much plating on the Uhlmann barrels but that was fixed.

How much too big is it?

it's not too much actually
I was able to push in for about 5mm(both the wire block and the point setter, both LP). I am sure if i pushed it really hard it could go it, I was worried about getting is back out though.

The only time I can think of you'd want to get it back out is when rewiring, when you can take the barrel off and push the cup out from the bottom.

Now you have got me thinking you have a different problem. The wire you took out what type was it? I am thinking it might be one that includes a ring and the ring is still in the barrel. Compare the old cup and the new one for height. If the new one with the ring is significantly longer then you may not have taken out the ring.
