CD Packaging

I've got new Tool album and I've been playing with the frickin' cool 3D images in the box. Great album as well. What are your favourites CD/LP packaging moments?

Other moments [for me] might be AC/DC's 'Dirty Deeds' LP cover and I also have a Front 242 CD box that is incredibly cool.

The new Tool album is very solid from what I've heard of it. I've contemplated picking it up, but I've got a few other things to knock off my list first.

I've always been impartial to the album cover to Jethro Tull's perhaps biggest hit Aqualung, and the depiction of Ian Anderson on foot. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is one of the great iconic album covers and the cover of B!tch's Brew is also pretty nifty, suits the album truthfully. There is a lot of great album cover art out there, but as for actual accesories, I've not seen much to be shocked over.

Weird Al's CD Poodle Hat has an image of his face on the CD mouth open, and where his mouth opens the whole is, quite nifty. Imogen Heap's new CD (I forget the name) has a somewhat amusing acknowledgement part of the the lyric flipbook in the front cover, but there are so many nifty versions of these things in different CDs these days....

Beatles White Album.
I have the LP framed and I always have people asking me why I have a blank frame on my wall

Props on the *****es Brew! Live Evil is another nearly identical in style of artwork. Two legendary recordings there! (These are by Miles Davis for those not in the know)

Cream Disareli Gears
Not only is it one of the greatest albums ever, it's artwork absolutley personifies the music and the time. It's just perfect

Oops, you said "CD packaging," I totally misread that. I'd have to change mine to Tool - Aenima.

I stopped buying CD's when I could no longer unwrap them without a can opener and a butcher knife.

System of a Down's self-titled... an open palm, fingers outstretched, IIRC. Also Poison the Well's, "The Opposite of December: A Season of Separation" cover.

Meatloaf's Bat Outta Hell II cover. Because... it's Meatloaf. My dad had this casette tape floating around as a kid... I always thought it had to be the hardest of rock... but it was Meatloaf.
