    Firefly

Jumping ship from the Captains thread:

I recently bought all the Firefly episodes for my iPod and I have to wholeheartedly agree that Captain Reynolds gets my vote for favorite Captain.
Especially for the episode Trash. That was one of my favorite. I love the dialogue in that show.

Great character well acted. Very funny, very believable. I alternate between Jayne and Mal as my two favourite characters. The cancellation of the show was a disappointment. I'd really like to know what the back story for Book was.

I think Wash is probably my favorite character. I think he is most like me. Or it may just be the Zoe angle, I dunno.

I agree the backstory on Book would be very interesting. He must of been of Value to the Alliance in the past to get immediate medical treatment when they read his ID card. Funny that there wasn't more repurcussions for Serenity, I mean they just said Thanks and off they went. Of course, a debriefing wasn't in the script, but I would be interested in such details as would make sense...

The Book thing was one of the reasons that I thought that Firefly was cleverly superficial. There should have been some serious questions for Book after that ... Of course if there had been other series....

    Simon was my favorite.

I showed "Serenity" (the movie, not the pilot) to some friends. They kept calling River "Nicole" and every time she went postal they would scream, "Nicole, NOOO!!!!!"

And here I thought the theme was something along the lines of "can't stop the signal" or... uh.... "keep flying".... or something.

I kind of AM river. And so my favorite episode is Objects in Space---

It was only made worse when they brought it up again in Serenity before *SPOILER*

To be slightly more philosophical, has anyone read the anthology "Finding Serenity"? It's a series of essays on Firefly, written before Serenity came out, and with very interesting analysies of different issues.
