I am not fully sure which book he first appears in, but I seem to remember a Pallaeon in The Clone Wars(Volume 5). I know that he became the commander of the Chimera after the Imperial loss at Endor. Then he became one of the few "good fellows" left among the imperial grand admirals. I think he signed the peace accords with the New Republic as well. It has been a loooooong time since I read the books so I could have a decent amount of this wrong. A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The purpose of tactic is to conquer the enemy with proper war movements and actions.

Palleon was never a Grand Admiral that I remember, although it's been a while since I read Spectre of the Past, so Zahn might have promoted him then. He certainly wasn't one of the original Grand Admirals like Thrawn was, which is a more important point. I have my doubts as to if there ever were any "Good Fellows" among them.
Palleon's first appearance would have to be in "Heir to the Empire", in terms of publication, as he is one of Timothy Zahn's created characters. -
My favorite captain is, of course, Malcolm Reynolds. -
