Palleon's first appearance would have to be in "Heir to the Empire", in terms of publication, as he is one of Timothy Zahn's created characters. | I believe it was the remaining Moffs that promoted him. But up to the point I've read, he's not only Grand Admiral Pallaeon, he's also like supreme commander of all Imperial anything!

If it has to be narrowed to Star Trek-Picard has my vote. |

For example? I could forget Kevin J. Anderson wrote anything. |

| I thought Captain Crunch did a better job against the Klingons, but of course he was really a Cap'n. Oh, and Captain America was pretty cool. And don't forget Captain Caveman.

| Commodore Robert Wesley -- Original Series, episode "The Ultimate Computer"
Why? (spoilers following...) The most meteoric rise in command in Star Fleet...
Played by Barry Russo, a character actor. In this episode he played a Commodore, commanding a small squadron of starships. In the previous year, he played a security chief on the Enterprise in the Horta episode (The Devil in the Dark). Hence, the man with a meteoric rise in command in Star Fleet, vastly eclipsing Kirk...
And this pretty much exhausts my Star Trek triva knowledge... |

| I kind of wonder where Kethrim is? Why hasn't she chimed in with an opinion?

My favourite ST captain is Picard, but I also admire Janeway for being the first female captain of a series.

Good? Yes.
Best ever? No.
Best since Babylon 5 (a television series that was patchy itself)? Debatable.
I couldn't possibly say what has been the best [taste being subjective] and I think it's a stretch to say that Firefly is the best ever.
Something better will come along, and there have been other excellent skiffy series in the meantime. |

I agree. Star Wars fans ... [amusing SW fan films aside] as bad as the social retards we call Trekkies (and I don't just meant the people who like the show; I mean the sad muppets who live the show). |
