- Confirm your updated rating with the USFA. If they haven't sent your card or sent it long ago, then you might have to ask them to send it again. If it's in the mail, but you need some confirmation for an event, ask them whether they can send you some sort of rating change confirmation via e-mail.
How long ago was the tournament? I'm sure that submission turnaround depends on the host division. For me, if the tournament was any time in May, I wouldn't pester anyone, yet, unless I needed to confirm the rating change for a big event. For example, if I had just earned a C, and I wanted to fence a Div I NAC, I'd start at the top and push the results along to the National Office so that they'd get it in time for the registration deadline.
Otherwise, just relax. It takes weeks to get an updated card with your new rating. |
bryan is pretty much on target here, just to clarify,
(assuming you care)
A. You should know, ahead of time, whether, or not, any 'tournament' you are going to IS, or IS NOT sactioned by a part of the USFA.
(There are many events that are not sanctioned USFA events that get listed on websites, newsletters, etc.)
B. You should understand who, exactly, is responsible for submitting the results to the next level, and how they intend to do it...(getting a copy is nice, but the national office is looking to get it from one of the officers of the division, and division level people are, in turn, looking to get it from the tournament organizers - they aren't likely to accept information from you. Division level people should, however, act on your complaint.)
C. Try not to submit you membership dues at out-of town events: this often is the cause of delays, and the mechanism for you own local people finding out you joined, or re-newed is very slow, and you may not get local imnformation. If you are not a member/re-newed by September 1st, you should not expect a Fall magazine (you'll be paying for it anyway...), so do it as soon as you get renewal, or better yet, do a multi-year membership.
D. Additionally, if you are not a member (and 18 years of age) as of 1 Feb. you are not supposed to be allowed to hold office, or vote for officers.
(Hey! What does this button do?!?!)
