Array Thanks so much for everyone's replies. I have a friend/teamate who has been a very strong C for years. We put together a team for men's foil and epee and made a deal that if he fenced Div II/III quals in epee I would fence them in foil and (no real doubt that both of us would finish high enough to qualify, although in my hubris I just barely made the Div II foil cutoff...) split travel costs and a hotel room. Since then he has gotten his foil A and then confirmed it so he felt that it might be frowned upon for him to fence Div II/III at sum nats which leaves me without a complete team for foil and epee as he is unwilling to go to nationals "just" to fence epee and the team events. I know, it's a wonder I will associate with him but I am hoping to bring him around...
Anyway I was pretty sure most fencers felt like I did on the issue (just go fence) so I am hoping all the responses will help encourage him to come out and play. Since I had to debase myself by fencing foil not once but twice in the same season, I would really hate to see all that effort go to waste! Thanks again all! Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Given these circumstances, I say he should go (despite how I voted.) If the others in Div II/III are scared of a fencer who has earned/confirmed his "A" in just a few months, then that's their problem. Frank Pratt

These might be the most lopsided poll results since the Christine Simmons poll. -

Array I voted "no" by mistake. Meant to vote "yes". My incompetence with all things computerish continues. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -
Greetings Inquartata,
I didn't think your computer has any button other than poll is flawed :P Originally Posted by Inquartata I voted "no" by mistake. Meant to vote "yes". My incompetence with all things computerish continues. Go to the well until the well is dry. When the well is dry find a new well. -

Array I doubt he'd be the only one fencing in Div II with a greater-than-c rating... The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -

Array Mustn't be TOO predictable. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! Similar Threads -
