| Uhlmann compared to Allstar I was just wondering how much of a difference you guys have noticed
between the fit of the Allstar FIE Athens jacket as compared to
the Uhlmann FIE WorldCup jacket both jackets cost the same and apparently
the Allstar Jackets fit tighter... is the difference noticable? |

| We have found that the Allstar is cut in a more "triangle" form--top up and point down, while the Uhlmann top is cut more like outerwear no real waist.
The bottoms are just about the same.

| Now all I need do is find a top cut in a "reverse triangle" (READ: BIG BELLY) and the world would be good

The zipper for the Allstar is better than the Uhlmann. We have 3 of each. My son is slimmer and prefers the more athletic cut of Allstar; I simply can not fit into an Allstar, thus, I use Uhlmann.

When at my last competition I was comparing kit with a friend. As I had just gotten my new jacket (Uhlmann 'Olympia' 2006) I noticed that the fabric had just a slightly different texture than his 'Olympia' 2005 breeches.
(Not so much that you would notice at a distance, but as I have an eye for details... )
I'm thinking small things like zippers would be dependant on retail prices etc. Just an idea, what do you think?

| I am a bit worried that I may be becoming Uhlmann shaped, when I'd really rather be Allstar, if Negrini is out of reach. (Actually, thinking of people I know who wear Negrini, I don't want to be that thin.) |

| You know, the "Allstar shape" must be reed-thin...because I'm pretty skinny and Uhlmanns still fit me fine...

| There might be more of a difference in the women's jackets, maybe? I think the Allstar ones are more fitted. I have noticed that the arms on the Allstar jackets and lames are narrower and perhaps a tad shorter than the Uhlmann ones.
It also probably depends on the sizing; the proportions may shift slightly as the sizing increases. I'm right at the bottom of the adult sizes, with a 36 women's, and the Allstar seems to be tailored just a little bit more for the petite frame at that size. |

| I used the uhlmann FIE jacket that was from 2000. I bought a second at one of the louisville tourneys on 01 that fit better. I bought allstar knickers in 02. All are holding up pretty good. The thing is that the Uhlmann jacket doesn't hold paint very well and it fades after a month.
